GREAT book!

Have any of you read "The Well-Adjusted Child: Social Benefits of Homeshooling"? My friend recently recommended it and I checked it out from the library. I enjoyed it SO much and found myself in some really interesting discussions w/ other moms that I had to order it for myself. (I LOVE to highlight and make notes in books -- especially parenting, learning, homeschooling books -- and I couldn't stand not to do that to the library one.)

If anyone else has read it, I'd love to know what you think. And if you haven't, I'd highly recommend it!

Is it about what I think it's about (i.e. the dreaded, "How do your home-schooled kids get SOCIALIZED?!" question)?

I still have an used Amazon gift certificate. This book may be the winner; thanks for recommending!

Yes. Great discussion and "answers" to that age old question about how kids could POSSIBLY be "normal" socially if they aren't forced into socializing with other kids (that they don't choose to be around mind you) that just happen to be in their same zip code and same age. Never mind the fact that most teachers would say to a child who actually wanted to "socialize" with a friend in class, "You are NOT here to socialize!!!!"

I think you can get it on Amazon for like $10 and they had it at our library. It's a quick read!

I just ordered it. I'm excited to read it and pass it around. I had to order the next book for DD1's mother/daughter book club anyway, so it was easy to add another book to our order. I'm good at justifying book purchases.
