Arrow Summer '09 discussion thread: The Sex Lives of Cannibals

Here is our discussion thread for The Sex Lives of Cannibals, one of our summer group reads. As always, be cautious of reading the posts below if you haven't finished, as they may contain spoilers.

Has anyone else read this? I've been trying but I just can't seem to get into it. I don't find the author likable or funny, and his writing style annoys me. Should I persevere? I think I'm on chapter three right now, which is usually the point at which I allow myself to stop reading if I can't get into a book.

I tried too.....I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood for it or it just wasn't a book for me..

I've set it aside and I'll try it later

Susan, did you abandon it? Sometimes a book comes to us at the wrong time, and it's good to just let it go. I recently saw this title on MotherReader's list of suggestions (check out the sidebar), along with Bitter is the New Black which I know you enjoyed. (I'll have to give that one a try!)
