Someone stole our reindeer!

I am so mad! Night before last someone stole our grapevine animated lit buck right from our front yard! Unpluegged it, unstaked it and off they went. There was even a big set of footprints leading to a cars wheel tracks in the snow.

Tricia woke up, looked outside and yelled, Momma!!! Rudolph is missing!!' Then she cried and cried and cried. She had even tied a little red bow on his nose. Broke my heart. Last night it took me over and hour to get her to sleep because she was afraid the mean person who took our reindeer would come take other things from our house. Today she seems to be pretty over it, and she told me that maybe God knew they needed a reindeer more than we did.... (I did not go into that I dont think God would have them STEAL it, but I sure thought she was sweet in thinking that). We will get another one (though the bucks like this one are hard to find... maybe why it was stolen)

I just can't get over someone stealing a Christmas decoration. We live in a nice neighborhood, with very friendly neighbors - a small community.... I really think it was an 'outsider.'

Anyway, I just needed to vent. SO maddening! Not so much the loss of the deer, but the loss of a little piece of innocence and naievity for my daughters.

Oh and also this was discovered the morning of our 6th anniversary (the 11th) and also the day we had to leave early to drive the 4 hrs to So. VA to look at our home that we rent out down there to see how horribly our tenants who have vacated took care of it. They had cats that had no clue how to behave them selves and put a POOL in our backyard without our permission. We are fit to be tied! Need to replace the linoleum totally (only 4 yr old flooring!) and some of the time, and repaint everything. When we were last in the house in April it was BEAUTIFUL.

Happy anniversary to us.

I can't totally complain though, DH and I went to a Jim Brickman concert the night before (he doesnt even like soplo piano but agreed to go with me lol), and had a blast! Yes even DH had fun! Amazing showman and musician

Wow, what a discombobulated post. lol

Hope you all had a good weekend! And that your decorations are still intact!
Liz

Oh Liz...that is bad. We had similar happenings in our neighborhood at halloween in which all (about 8 of them) of our decorated pumpkins were smashed. It was very upsetting to say the least.

I am sorry about the house...I can only imagine...your home was always beautiful! Stay after that tenant....

Hang in there....

Liz, I am so mad about Rudolph and your house! I say put a sign up in your yard that says "Merry Christmas, I hope you enjoy our deer, my daughter has cried for days "

The pool I am guessing was an above ground pool that killed the grass and they took?
