I finished this last weekend. It reminded me in a way of Jitterbug Perfume. It rambles all over with a bit of fantasy and whimsy. I had a few laugh outloud moments. When I finished it, I wasn't sure what to think about it. I was disappointed in the ending but the rest was entertaining. The Spanglish was funny and the drawings added to the story.
I'm not sure what exactly but something was lacking for me. I didn't feel an attachment to any of the characters which is something that always bothers me with a book. It's entertaining, I'm not sorry I read it, but I wasn't thrilled beyond belief with it.
