Question for crafty people

I was just paging through a book on children's room, and saw something really cool . . . in one little boy's room, his mom had spelled out his name on the wall using twinkle lights. Has anyone done this? And how would you do it? Are there twinkle lights that come on a kind of wire you can mold into letter shape, or would you somehow attach it to a wire that you could shape?

Make a box type frame, so a frame but with flat wood on the front, drill the name you want through the front of the wood and then push the lights through so you only see the lights not the wire. You could paint the frame the same colour as your wall to make it blend in. That's how I would do it.

You can get fairy lights on a string, or you can get stuff like this:

I was looking at that rope stuff, I just wasn't sure if you could mold it.

Julie, I forgot I had a lighting expert as a friend!!!

....and by the way, I am n ot a fan of the Florida architiectural look, but I am in love with the house you posted on the other thread. God, the lines of it-- both inside and out. Never mind how luxurious and gorgeous it would be to LIVE in-- I could spend days just LOOKING at it. Those recessed cans sprinkled along the kitchen ceiling against the angles of the cabinetry....... the bones of the stairway.....the front door and transom.... whoever designed that house, loved it. I am swooning over the details of that place.
