Favorite CD and cheapest place to buy them...

We just got our tax refund and need to buy some new diapers for our new baby. I've used nothing but prefolds and proraps for the last (almost) 4 years and I'm toying around with the idea of expanding my horizons Nothing too spendy of course but what do you REALLY like and where have you found is the cheapest place to buy them?

I just bought a few new diapers to try out from diaperco.com. I got Liz's Cloth hemp fitteds with a fleece-topped doubler (love them and plan to buy more), a muttaqin (pricy and haven't really tried it out yet) and a Happy Heiny pocket diaper (so far so good). I also got an Under the Nile organic fitted which is my least favorite so far - I prefer snaps to velcro and the internal soaker means it takes forever to dry.

Wherever you decide to buy from, you might want to check out the front page to Mothering's diaper forum to see if there are coupon codes.

We have tried several kinds, and so far Motherease is my favorite, and kushies are my least favorite.
I want to branch out and try other kinds, so I am interested in what other people say.
The motherease sandy's diapers can take a long time to dry which can be annoying, and energy wasting!

Fuzzi Bunz are my favorite. I'm about to sell all of my ME so I can buy more FB. Best prices I've seen are on ebay - you can often get new ones there too. I buy them from a distributor in Canada (Bareware.com) and get them shipped directly from the FB (mother of eden ?) company. Her prices aren't bad IMO.

bareware recently closed

i have tried so many diapers, wraps and AIOs that it's almost embarrasing.

i've recently become a huge fuzzibunz fan. i tried them years ago and didn't like them, but they are now the best diapers i own. i just bought some from cottonbabies. they have them the cheapest i have seen, and they come with free microfiber inserts. they also have a buy-back program so you can trade your used ones in for a credit on the next size up

bumkins AIO's are worthless. they're a really cute way to get pee/poop all over your kids' clothes. bumkins wraps are awesome with CPF, but they don't work well with fitted diapers.

If you are looking for AIO's Bumware has GREAT ones at good prices! For fitteds at a good price... I really like Tykies or Calico baby. I love Muttaqins but at 16.00 for one dipe that might be a bit expensive for you. I really love Little fishy bikini cut cuddlebuns. About $15 for one.

My favourite diaper hands down are First Class baby fitteds. Impossible to get. $20 a dipe. But the best workmomship I have found. They will be stocking (and I'll be stalking!) end of march. I managed to trade a custom wrap for a some dipes with a fluffymail mama so that's the only reason I have as many as I do

Now for GREAT and inexpensive wool... try Green Mountain Wee Woolies. I just ordered 5 custom pairs of soaker shorts for summer and the cost was only about $150 usd! That's a great price (and they have embellishments!) or try BJMarketplace soakers off of ebay. Very cute and oh so soft!

I echo what Susan said. Check the mothering diapering front page for customer codes and deals

Good luck and let us know what you have bought!!!

Tammy... just slightly diaper addicted.

I just got 1 fuzzibunz to try it out and I absolutely LOVE it! I tried LOTS of different diapers and these are the best so far! And they dry fast because they are pocket diapers. If I had the money, I would buy all fuzzibunz & sell my others! My only problem with the fuzzibunz is that it doesn't work well at night for us, but I just use something else - I still love the fuzzibunz!

I also LOVE the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers. They are the best covers in my opinion! They fit great & work great! For night time, I use the Snug to Fit One-Size Diaper, with my Bummis SWW cover, and a fleece liner. Works great for us! HTH!
