Great Halloween idea! L@@K!!

Yesterday, someone left a paper lunch bag on my inlaw's doorstep and when they opened it up, there was a bunch of assorted candy inside with a folded up note and a ghost cutout that had eyes and a mouth drawn on it. The outside of the paper bag was stamped with a cute pumpkin face!

Here's what the note read:

"Good Evening"

This the time for goblins and bats.
Halloween spirits and ghosts and cats.
Weird happenings and witches brew.
These are the things I wish for you.

May the only spirit you chance to meet
Be the spirit of love and warm friends sweet.
May the only goblin that comes your way
Be the NEIGHBORHOOD PHANTOM,
Whom you'll want to give away.

So by tomorrow, pick three friends sweet
And give them all a Halloween treat.
You have only one day, so hurry!
Leave the treat on the doorstep and
Flee in a hurry.

Now these are the three things you will need to do:
1. Make three copies of this letter and the Phantom Ghost.
2. Post the Phantom Ghost on your door until Halloween. This will ward off the Phantom Ghost from returning to haunt you and yours.
3. Take your letter, Phantom Ghost and treat, and deliver them to three homes that do not have the Phantom Ghost posted.

TIS BETTER GIVING THAN RECEIVING,
WE ALL KNOW THAT'S TRUE,
SO SHOW YOUR LOVE TO ALL THE WORLD,
AND REMEMBER.......
NOW THE PHANTOM IS YOU!!!!!!!!!

I think that is such a clever and neat idea! This is the first time I've seen this done. We are going to do the same thing tomorrow with some of our neighbors! ;D

We do this, too! 2 years ago right after 9/11, I read in the police beat section of our paper that one of the recipients called the police and turned it over because he thought it was an unattended suspicious package

We live in a little town of 6000 in the midwest, but I guess he thought you can't be too careful!
