Red face Back from Dr.

I called my main ob/gyn and tried to get in, made sure to tell them EVRYTHING and reminded them that this is my third pregnancy with two losses, but was told that she was overbooked as it was, and if I wanted, I could talk to a nurse. I don't need to talk to a nurse, I need to see a dr!
So I called my family dr, and was told if I come in at 2:15, I would be able to see the dr, but they didn't know how long the wait would be. So I go and two hours later (Of air conditioned bliss) I get to see the doc and she checks everything out and says I sound clear in the chest, but may have a virus that is going around. So blood tests for that nad to make sure I havn't gone anemic. Plus a urine test.
She gave me a week off work, A WHOLE WEEK! If when I go back to work, the same thing starts happening, then I am to see her again, and then she would reduce my hours/duties, and if that doesn't help, early mat leave here I come! I am just relieved to not have to drag myself up and to that sauna every day for awhile.
So I will see if this helps my mindset at all, am relly hoping that it does.
But now I feel horrifically guilty for calling in sick and for taking time off work. I know I have to take care of my helpless little baby Jr., but I have such a major guilt trip going. UUGGH!
Thanks for the concern and support everyone.
Oh, and I am seriously thinking of either changing OB's or getting a midwife. I want to be able to see my doctor when I need to, not when it is most convieniant for them to schedule me for 10 minutes.
Bea

Bea~~

Take a deep breath, and {{hugs}}. You are doing the right thing taking some time off from work and resting. And sleep in the other room! My DH snores (actually has sleep apenia, so he has to wear a special air respirator at night), and some nights, I just get up and leave! It's too much for me to deal with. Lack of sleep makes everything so much worse.

Be extra gentle with yourself and if things are not improving, call you dr. back immediately. I don't like hearing you might hurt yourself. Nothing is worth that. We are all here for you, and again, PM me if you want to talk...I'm right with you.

{{hugs}}

Don't feel guilty . . . take it easy, and most importantly, please take care of yourself.

Also, maybe you should think about changing OB's . . . after my loss, my doctor has been so understanding and basically has an open door policy for me . . . she's told me time and time again that if I get worried, and want to come in for an u/s, then to just do so -- I haven't yet, mainly because she's scheduled me for biweekly u/s's as it is -- but it's nice to have the support. Also, the few times that I've called with concerns, she's called me back personally. I think having a proactive and concerned practioner is a must for PAIL's moms!

I am thinking of changing OB's already, and maybe getting a midwife instead. I need the kind of doctor you have, because I have had the two losses, and I don't get another ultrasound untill september 22, 2003! I wouldn't mind one right now, just to see my baby!

I had songrams (the vaginal ones) every two weeks up until I was 12 weeks, then I had my first level 2 u/s at 16 weeks, and then began having level 2 u/s's every two weeks starting at 24 weeks! I can't believe they won't give you an u/s before that . . .
