I agree that medically necessary isn't too hard to get around, but at the same time it's a step in the right direction. It means that a large enough group of doctors are really looking at the issues that regularly arise with premature c-section and inductions.

I've been induced all four times. The first failed and I had a c-section. The others were vbac, the latter two being natural (aside from the induction, I mean no epidural or pain meds.) The second was a gentle induction 9 days past my due date that I did agree to and there were some small issues. The third was medically necessary (toxemia) and the last I agreed to reluctantly, but I had to search high and low for doctors who would even give me the chance to VBAC.

I've heard going into labor on your own is easier, but I haven't experienced it and likely never will. If I have another it will be another induction at 40 weeks just because that's what you do with my risk factors.
