pooh-pooh

My husband (with both our children) pooh-poohed ALL my suggestions. He didnt have any ideas of his own, he was just reserving the right to say nay. At first it was annoying but then it became a game. I would pitch my idea and he would deliberate. Jokingly of course. When we finally agreed I nearly fell over. Since I had picked (or discovered) our daughter's names he picked the middle name. I let him have some fun with it, and our eldest's middle name is from a cartoon character.

An easy compromise

Well, all of my children have two middle names. That wasn't a problem with my first two, but with the third...
When we first found out that I was pregnant, my husband told me that he had always wanted to have a daughter named Cheyenne. I am big on what the name means, so i looked it up and found that it either meant "The Dog People" or "Unitelligible Speakers". I didn't like either. Later that week I had a dream that I was telling everyone at church our daughters name (which I didn't know in the dream. How nice huh?) One of the names meant "Protected by God". Did a lot of searching and found Alisha means that. And as a child I loved the Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School movie. One of the characters name is Sabella. I told my husband and he wasn't too hip on that one. "It's not a normal name. I've never even heard of it."
So, we came up with the name Sabella Cheyenne Alisha. We are going to call her Sabella Cheyenne on a regular basis to make both of us happy. But I liked the compromise of both of us picking a name and God picking one too. But, if I hadn't had the dream we could have found a common family name also, to make both of our families feel better.
The most important thing is, that this is your baby. Name him or her what you want or feel is right. Also the double middle name thing will give the child more choices when they grow up!

Smile A deal made easy

My husband and i have had the arrangement that if i have any boys he would name them
and i would name the girls. Well after having 7 boys and 1 girl we found out that i was pregnant again, this time he was not happy with the name Indepentia Marie so i said i will call her by her full name and you can call her Indy for short finally after thinking it over for a couple of days he finally agreed to it as he said the chances of having a girl was very slim. To his surprise and mine we are expecting a little girl.
