We don't have any cloth diaper reviews in our cubby so let's get one going! If you've used cloth diapers, let us know which type you've used, approximate cost, whether you liked it or not, etc. Include info on diapers, covers, etc.
THANKS! Mari

*My prices are Canadian unless otherwise specified.
We mostly use a diaper service which provides us with 70 infant prefolds a week or 50 premium sizes a week for $14.95. We can add diapers in increments of 10 for an additional $1 a week! My favorite fitted dipe is the Kissaluvs. It needs to be washed a few times to max the absorbency but they are a great diaper, and really cute in colors! Cost varies on where you purchase. Ebay starting at $5 up to $11 from online stores. But they have an outlet store where you can get seconds as well. MotherEase is my favorite one-size diaper. We use it with a doubler for night or long car rides. Times when we know it will be awhile before we can change her. I do not use it for regular use as it seems quite bulky on my little girl at this age. They sell for $11 but again sell for less on auction sites. We've also used Crickett's hemp fitted dipes. These again are great for night time and long trips although they seem to stain easily and they have an off-putting smell when they've been wet for awhile. They are a trimmer fit than the ME. We purchased ours on auction so I'm not sure of the price. The only covers we use are Bummi's. We use the Industrial Super Whisper Wrap the most and have had little to no problems with them. The sizing is great, they rarely wick or stain, and I've had no problems with leaking. Now that the warm weather is here we're using the cotton bummi's. They arent bad but you have to be right on top of changing or they absorb too much moisture. The retail for $8 - $11. We tried ProWraps but found them bulky and she grew out of the size quickly. The MotherEase Airflow cover left horrible red lines on my tubby baby's legs for weeks so I'm hesitant to recommend it although others like it fine. It just wasnt for my baby. Lastly we use hemp doublers in our dipes at times when I think she'll need more absorbancy and we use hemp fleece doublers at night to keep the moisture off of baby's skin. They can run a bit expensive but we purchased ours from a great WAHM website (7th Heaven Babies) for $2 each and were able to pick fabric combinations. |

Chinese Prefold Cloth Diapers
Cost $2.55 ea Canadian ($1.80 ea USD) Where: www.thebabymarketplace.com These diapers took some getting used to, but now I really like them. They are basically just regtangular pads made of absorbant gauze. The good thing is it doesn't matter the size of your kid! You just fold them to your liking and place them inside a diaper wrap. No pins or clips, and they work well if you have a newborn and want to "air out" that baby bum...just place the baby on the diaper on the floor so if there is an accident there isn't a problem!! Covers: I use Kushies covers Cost: Usually about $6.99ea Canadian Where: Sears (and at my local Sears they are usually on sale!) They come in cute prints and two different sizes. My only complaints are that they seem to discolour a bit in the wash and they are too easy for ds to undo on his own!! They do well in the washer and dryer. |

We use chinese prefolds - I got mine on eBay for about $25 for a dozen. We also have used Kushies Classic fitted diapers. I like both. The Kushie's take a while to dry, IMO. I got 6 for about $40 on eBay.
For covers we use Kushies and Pro-Wraps. I prefer the PW. They have held up better. I *think* I paid around $5 for the Kushies covers and slightly more for the PW on eBay. For nighttime we use Fuzzi-Bunz with hemp Joey Bunz inserts. They are very absorbant. They are pricey but worth it IMO. I cannot remember what we paid but I know it was a lot. I know a lot of people don't like them, but we really like our Kushies AIO's. My only gripe is that they take forever to dry. Everything we've had has lasted through two children and 2 years of cloth diapering!

Adding:
We just tried the Motherease Sandy's diaper and the Rikki wrap. The diaper is so soft and absorbant, we use it mostly for night time now. The Rikki wrap is much more adjustable than the AirFlow and I may almost like it more than the Bummi's SWW. The Sandy's diapers cost approx. $11 each and the Rikki Wrap is $12. |
