View Full Version : Who has the best organic standards?
I understand what USDA organic labeling means but I think other groups actually certify the foods. So who has the strictest standards? Quality Assurance International (QAI)? Oregon Tilth? Somebody else? Or do all third-party organic certifiers have the same standards?
Maybe more importantly, who has the worst standards? Anyone know?

I wouldn't know but I would be curious. I try to buy locally grown organic foods from our co op, and I rarely buy vegetables that are not organic. I find organic produce not only makes such a difference for health reasons but often tastes so much better.
I try to promote organic foods, here is a good website to help people who are thinking about going organic. This is one important reason:
"Children receive four times the exposure than an adult to at least eight widely used cancer-causing pesticides in food. The food choice you make now will impact your child's health in the future."
