if you have implantation and stretching pains does that mean you are less likely to have an ectopic pregnancy!??

I heard that the more symptoms you have the better (the less likely you are to m/c) ..is this true???

I dont mean to be insensitive and ask about m/c - I guess I am jsut sooo paranoid and need some reassurance. :o

I think so. According to my book, in an ectopic pregnancy, 'the usual symptoms of pregnancy - morning sickness, swelling of the breasts and so on - are not often seen because the embryo usually dies so early; but in cases where it does survive such symptoms may develop.'

I was reading about it just last night because like you, I'm somewhat worried about anything that can go wrong. I have been feeling a very sharp pain on my right side every few days or so and I hope it's just ligaments stretching, but I keep wondering whether it's a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. But according to the books, ectopic pregnancy are usually discovered between 6-8 weeks although they can be discovered a little bit later.

I hope all of this reassures you a bit - I know it's difficult. I don't think you're being insensitive at all - I think we all know a little bit how you feel because of what we have been through.

Some people say that it is not true that the more morning sickness you feel, the less likely you are to miscarry and I think some of our storkie sisters on this forum have had direct experience with this unfortunately. However, I will say that with my m/c, my breasts stopped feeling tender at about 8 weeks and I also stopped feeling sick and having other symptoms at about 9 weeks which had me very worried, and it turned out with good reason because my baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks. Anyway, this time I am continuing to have all the symptoms and I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
