McKenna Rheanne is finally here. she was born by c-section on September 27.
After being in and out of labor for 2 weeks, I went into the hospital that Friday morning at 8 to be induced. I was already around 4cm. The pitocin was satrted at 10 am, and within a few hours, I was in active labor. I chose not to have an epidural(sp?), I chose instead to use Stadal(sp?) to help with the pain. After 2 doses of Stadal, at 5 pm, I had finally dialated to 10. Now I had to push. BTW, I don't know if you will remember, I was attempting a vbac after 2 previous c-sections. Anyway, I pushed for almpost 3 hours. I tried in several different positions. My nurses were amazing, I will always be grateful to them for theie support. Ok, back to the story. After pushing for almost 3 hours, and my ob trying to turn the baby who was face up, I decided I had had enough. I made the decision to have the c=section. McKenna never came down past a +1 station. Everyone did everything they could do for me, it just wasn't going to happen.
It was entirely my decision, and I feel good about making it. I also feel good that the one thing eveyone was so worried about, uterine rupture did not happen. I have had an easy recovery which I am grateful for. Thank you all for your support over the last 9 months.
