Have any of you experienced complications with incompetent cervix?

I had a LEEP done a year or so ago and have heard that it can cause incompetent cervix. I'm very worried about this.

If you have any info. or experience with this--PLEASE HELP!

I have never heard it causing an incompetant cervix. I had a LEEP proceedure done at 26 weeks when I was pregnant with my second daughter and I had her at 34 weeks. I also had my third daughter at 30 weeks and now my 4th daughter is due in
February. All of my girls were early. I don't have an incompetent cervix, I just have pre-rupture of membranes which makes me go into full blown labor.

Just have your Dr. keep checking your cervix at your appointments and you should be fine.

Good Luck.

That's so good to know! Thank you for your reply, I can breathe a little easier knowing that you've had one with no cervical "ill effects".

Thank you for replying!

I'm glad I could set your mind at ease Stephanie. I do know that stress can cause premature labor. So just relax.

Have a Great Day!

Steph~ I haven't had a leep but do have an incompetent cervix. I lost a little boy at 20 weeks gestation b/c of it. If you feel anything at all PLEASE do ask your dr. ANd make sure they check you regularly not just feel your tummy. I think since you've already been through labor you will be more aware of what to watch for. I was clueless. But i am soo scared for anybody having to go through this. If they do find an inc cervix you will probably be stitched up. How many weeks are you by now? Email me if you have any questions.

Thank you, MarthaAnn. I'll be contacting you. I have a friend that lost her child at 20 weeks, also. That was a few months ago. I'm so sorry for your loss....I saw through my friend a lot of what you went through.....I'm truly sorry.

Thanks again.
