Black Cohosh question

Anyone have websites or info on this?? Or personal experience??

My mw's asst told me to start taking 10 drops under the tounge every 30 mins. However, everything I've read says it's best to use Blue and Black together..not black alone. I have some Red Raspberry Combo vits that I've been taking..and it has both in it.

I'm a little leary of her advice about this. So far..I don't like what I've found about the herb.

Are you showing other signs of labor? I see that your due date isn't until next week. What else is going on that would warrant expediting this baby's birth?

If there isn't anything else going on, you would be best to not do anything herbal. The standard walking, sex and spicy food will do just fine. :)

If there IS something going on, I believe that there are a lot more "safer" things that you can try before jumping to cohosh. Nipple stimulation - things like that.

Let me know what is going on, ok. I gotta go get my hair cut now.

I also would not use blue unless you are taking the homeopathic version in a remedy called Matrigen. According to my naturopath, they aren't making Matrigen anymore, but maybe your midwife has a stash.

I also wouldn't do the black until you are overdue. I did some during my labor and it was very powerful.

Andrea ~ I'm not trying to induce labor....my mw's asst. just suggested this..thus my research. I'm not taking anything other than my herbal vits (RRL Combo..which has blue and black in it, EPO, Echinacea, Vit C).

I am showing several signs of labor however. I've had several nights of early labor that have stopped (Wed. night was the most recent and most intense), loosing my plug, dialated to 3cm, 75% effaced, 0 station, feeling my lower half gearing up (bones spreading and loostening), etc. The dialation and effacement however is from the 28th when I had major cntx that caused me to call them..they came over..got EVERYTHING set up..rested..then it stopped. GRR..lol

Anyway...trying to do research before I take anything new to me.
