View Full Version : Here's how to post an Amazon link through StorkNet...

A couple of you have asked how to post a link to a book on Amazon, making sure that StorkNet gets credit if someone purchases a book through the link. Thank you so much for asking! We really appreciate it. Here's how you do it:

1. Look up the ISBN number for the book. I do this by looking up the book on Amazon. It is listed in the publishing details of the book.

2. Then, use this code, replacing the XXXX's with the ISBN number, and taking out the space:
http://www. amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/XXXX/ref=nosim/storknet00

3. Use this code when you post the link in your note (just remove the spaces):
[url =http://www.
amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0451199863/ref=nosim/storknet00]A Pocket Full of Rye[/ url]
(When I remove the spaces, it becomes this: A Pocket Full of Rye (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0451199863/ref=nosim/storknet00[/url))

Yes, Kathleen, music works the same way books do. Also, videos and DVDs, toys, etc. can be purchased this way, I believe. Cool, huh? :)

Does it work the same if you are purchasing a few things? My dad wants http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000033PY/qid=1040149178/sr=8-8/ref=sr_8_8/103-6199828-6339867?v=glance&s=music&n=507846 for x-mas & DH wants some CDs too -- can I order together & just insert that code or do I need to do something else? I haven't gone to the shopping cart yet but was curious if you knew.

Amy, when I want to buy several things, I usually look up each item for its ISBN number, and then insert it into the special code address. Here's the address for the CD your dad wants:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000033PY/ref=nosim/storknet00

Just click on the link above, and then add it to your shopping cart. Do the same for the other items: create an address like the one above, go to it, and then add the item to your cart.

Ursula, everything you did looks right except for the space between / and url in your closing brackets.
