I just thought I would share. I'm halfway through a book given to me for my son's first birthday by a dear friend. It's called, "Parenting As a Spiritual Journey, Deeping Ordinary and Extraordinary Events into Sacred Occasions" and it's written by Rabbi Nancy Fuchs-Kreimer.
I'm not sure if I can do justice to the content of the book because so much resonates for me but suffice it to say she writes about the journey of parenthood, trancending the mundane, seeing the joy, mastering fears...the topics that I wish we had discussed in my new mothers group...which, I suspect, are the secret thoughts of parents.
I'm really loving it. It's a good book for someone who needs a good lift and needs to be reminded of the sacred in their parenting. (the book is for no particular religion...she interviews parents of all faiths but uses their stories as stories, not as issues of faith..so that people of any faith can see themselves in the stories.)
