I'm not sure if I should post this question here, or on Product Opinion, or Heart of the Home - I'll try here first!
I just bought this crock pot:

Is it a good choice? We are a family of four. We are trying it out for the first time tomorrow!

I think you did good. Looks like you can pull out the crock part? That's really nice. Size-wise, I think you made a good choice.

Yes, the stoneware comes out - everyone said to get one like that but I didn't see any that *didn't* have that feature!

That's the same one I have! I like it, and it has a lot of capacity.
When I was home at my parents for Christmas, though, I made my goulash in my Aunt's crock pot, which I think is pretty old. It seemed to cook a lot hotter, and I was concerned about the result, but the meat was the most tender I have ever had it. I don't know if it was better beef or the crockpot. I'm trying some good beef from the butcher tomorrow in my Crockpot to see. I'm so curious.

My MIL bought us a crock pot with the removeable stoneware for Christmas, and I *LOVE* it! It made THE most tender pot roast I've ever had.
We have a 4 1/2 quart and it's definitely large enough to feed our family of 4, so I think yours is just fine.
Let us know if you like your crock pot!

I think you've made a good decision. The most important factor for me is that the stoneware part is removable for easier washing. It's a good size too for a family of 4. Mine is only 3 quarts but my girls don't eat much still. I'll probably get a bigger one in a few years.
Have fun with it! :)
