hi just wondering if anybody out there with experience about incompetent cervic and cervic cerlage(stitch) had mine put in at twelve weeks after i had miscarriage last year at 17weeks after emergency cerlage at 14 weeks was just to dilated doc couldnt get it tight enough, i am at nearly 17 weeks now with twins would like to know what the next few months are going to be like as the weight of the babies gets heavier on my cervic.

I had one and had a rescue cerclage at 22 weeks because my cervix was shortening, he said I could have held my son about another week. After the cerclage my cervix lengthened enough and it held the baby no problem.
From what I understand once you get into your third trimester there's less pressure directly on your cervix because a baby is too big. The stitch is able to hand the weight of a kid sitting directly on it. My OB told me that cerclages have a very high success rate. I didn't go on bedrest although I was restricted.
Good luck and congratulations on your twins. I think that since you're past the point where your cervix gives out the stitch is strong and you're in good shape.

thanks viketory for the information i have just been told take it easy no heavy lifting or to much activety, if i been on my feet for a while i can feel my stitch so i go put my feet up and the feeling goes straight away love recliners, my doc said if he had known earlier i had twins he would had suggested i get rid of one of the babies so be easier on my cervic he reckons this could get tricky later on, i have heard before what you said about once the babies get really big that there weight is no longer a problem i think getting from 20 weeks to 30 weeks will be the tough stretch if there is one at all heres hoping it doesnt happen, oh and dom and i could never have aborted one of our babies so that was never a option, just glad we never had to think about it

Hi mom2be its a stitch in your cervic like a draw string to keep the cervic closed, i have incompetent cervic which means its weak so once its gets some weight on it it opens, lost little man at 14 weeks and had emergency cerlage at 14weeks with little girl but lost her three weeks later because i was to dilated for doc to be able to pull it closed tight enough so this time got it in a 12 weeks before cervic started to move and also they wont do the procedure before then anyway no in first trimester
