My last childbirth experience was not what I hoped. My DD is only 11 months and I'm 5 months pg again and was hoping time would lessen the fear and anxiety about doing it again, however, it hasn't and I'm very fearful. We prepared for natural childbirth last time but after 2 days of hard labor with no progress and fears of a c-section, I ended up with an epi, baby born in distress (meconium) and in a special nursery for 3 days, I had a 103 fever and infection - you get the picture. Several other things happened that have me really terrified of doing it again. I'm still very committed to natural childbirth but I'm afraid my body won't cooperate or I'll chicken out and get the epi for fear of everything happening all over again. I've decided one way of combating this is to hire a really good doula. I'm currently living in Illinois but am moving to the Phoenix area in 6 weeks. Since I won't really have time to do a lot of interviewing, I'm wondering if anyone has used a doula in Phoenix that they can recommend? If you don't want to post their personal information here, my email address is: amcal0624@yahoo.com TIA!

Try checking at www.dona.org to get some names, and maybe you could email them to get an idea if you want an in person interview when you get to Phoenix.
