Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Bradley Method Book. I really want a different birth experience (with dd I had a narcotic and an epi :( ). We cannot afford to take a class, so the book would have to be very complete.
TIA
Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way
and
Husband Coached Child Birth
The latter one is by Dr Bradley--the first one is by some woman--susan something I think. :)

Go for the first one- the second was way too insulting for my taste. *lol* It is written for the husband to read and the explain to his wife. :P

I passed the second along to a friend of mine (Lamaze educator!) for laughs for her. It is rather dated -- but the guy was OLD and therefore chauvinistic! If you can get past his patronizing tone it's kinda neat to think of what he helped to bring about.
I agree that the first is very useful. I'd also see if you could get the "workbook" from someone who had taken the courses. It was very good!
I love the Bradley method -- but don't measure it by reading the book he wrote!

Definitely: Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. Don't get the book by Dr Bradley. I love the Bradley Method, but I couldn't stand his book. (I had a successful unmedicated birth after reading the book by the woman). Good luck!!! If you do buy her book, I just want to warn you that there are uncensored pictures, (nudity etc) I don't think you should be offended, but I always want to warn anyone who orders the book.

Thanks :) I will get Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. Luckily, my dh received a gift cert for a local bookstore for Christmas.
Also, thanks for the warning, I doubt I will be offended, but it is good to know.
