Seriously, I think I am just wayyy over thinking it.

We were planning on using A beka for reading, language and history. Singapore for Math and Science and just random books for Spelling and handwriting...

But, I need it el cheapo, I keep ebaying and loosing, or not finding lots with the stuff I need....

I wanted to start last week. Ugh!

Somebody make me feel better! please.

(Oh and if you have used/reviewed any of the above I'd love more opinions to complicate my mess)

I've never used any of those, so I'll skip the opinion part. Do you have a used cirr. store near you? That might get it in your hands quicker. Good luck!

We started using Singapore math at the beginning of the summer. So far I'm pleased with it. We're just using the textbooks and the challenging word problem books right now, although they publish other supplementary books as well. At this point, neither child needs the extra practice.

If you have a homeschool group that you're part of, ask if anyone is interested in doing a curriculum show and tell. We did one this afternoon at our weekly park day. It's always nice to see the books in person and get to hear about other people's experiences.

Thanks ladies. I've calmed down a bit. All in good time. :) We will start Tuesday with what I have and go from there.

Susan, I've been having Jane take the placement tests for Singapore, did you order pretty close to the 2A=3rd beginning schedule? thanks.

Susy started with 3A at the beginning of the summer and is nearly done with 3B now, so she'll be doing 4A and 4B for her fourth grade year. She has had no problem with the level three books, all of which are review for her. Sam is technically in kindergarten but he did 1B this summer and is nearly done with 2A. I'm not quite sure what to do with him over the next year as eventually I assume he's going to hit a wall where the math gets too advanced for him and he needs to tread water a bit. Maybe not, who knows.
