Poor boy is sweatin'

Jen's boyfriend is meeting dh for the first time this weekend. We have all warned him that he has to know what his future plans are and how he intends to get there. Dh is all about "the plan". Boy has not had a plan, his parents have been driven mad because he didn't have a plan. Jen hasn't pressured him to have a plan but he is feelin' the heat right now.

I will let you know what his plan is when I know, I am sure he is still working it out :lol:

He also knows that he is dd's first boyfriend so he figures dh will be extra tough on him. I soooo wish I could be closer to watch him squirm this week. Yes, I am just a little bit mean like that.

Ah, a fine and gentle roasting over the coals never hurt a young man. It can't possibly be worse than the scene in Say Anything when the dad is questioning Lloyd about his plan and he comes up with "kickboxing".

He comes tomorrow, should be interesting.

Dh grilled Jon's girlfriend. She even had the forthsight to bring some of her art work for him to see :lol: She is an amazing artist so she passed easy. She plans to go to an art school in Boston.

They seemed to do ok. Sat around, dh offered him a beer and all. He seemed much calmer by the time he left to go home than when he arrived. At least the first meeting is over with.

I wasn't there to hear the plan. I will have to talk to Jen and find out. I am sure he has a plan. I think from what dh said he is planning to continue to go to college the rest is fuzzy to me, I was cooking for 9 people and missed the good parts.

Glad to hear that it seems he came up with a plan in time for his meeting with your DH. It sounds like it went well overall and maybe next time it will be a more enjoyable visit since Jen's boyfriend won't be so tense.

No kidding Meg! Mil and Fil were there also it was a mess. Today it is down to just dh, the boys and myself. Dh had fun mowing his own grass today after taking his parents to the airport. It was nice they were able to come but I can now relax.

MIL talks non stop and one up's me on anything I say. If you have ever seen Malcolm in the middle, she is just like the Mom's mother (the boys grandmother). I think she is played by Cloris Leachman. So much so Jeff brought it up and he isn't the most observant of such things :lol:

I imagine that made things even more intimidating for Jen's boyfriend! I'm glad you are able to relax now yourself. In-laws can be so hard sometimes.
