I had an interesting interaction today with a young lady at work. She mentioned breastfeeding her 12 week old in casual conversation, and when another young man asked her how long she should breastfeed I prepared myself to spout off AAP and WHO recommendations..... and then she replied "they say two years".

:clap::cool::clap:

I was so tickled to hear her say that!

Later she needed a private place to pump. Unfortunately the only place was the bathroom, and as we took a break she asked the group if anyone needed to go, go now, because she would be in there for a while. There was an awkward silence then I said she's going to pump, not poop!

:lol:

Good for her! I gotta say, Gus is 19 mos now and I have no desire to quit whatsoever. It is just so comforting for him (and me!).

:clap: Yay for her! I am scared to go beyond 2yrs but I will definately be going for 18mos or so. We will take it a day at a time after that I guess.

dd and I went to 26 months with gentle weaning thrown in from about 23 on. I wasn't ready (and couldn't imagine giving it up) but by the time she turned 2 I knew it was time. Just go with your gut on this one!

Another yay for her!!! Too bad she has to pump in the bathroom though. I pumped in a storage closet. Not great, but better than a bathroom, IMO. Good for her for sticking with it anyway, though!
