We’ll be spending this January in the humid summer of southern Appalachia, enjoying:

Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver

Kingsolver’s fifth novel weaves together three stories of human love, celebrates the wonders of nature and teaches lessons about our connections to everything alive.

I think I will give this a try. I do hope I have time to sit and read. With the kids being home for winter break who knows. Count me in.

I haven't read this one yet! I enjoyed Kingslover's The Poisonwood Bible and nearly chose it as my favorite book of this year, but then I realized I'd read it last year, so I couldn't pick it. I hope I like this one too.

I've had this on my "to be read" pile for about a month now. I started it this morning and am already caught up in the characters. :)

Oh, no! I was going to join your reading circle this month, but I'm *really* not much of a Kingsolver fan! Oh well . . . I guess I'll start with the February book.

Oh, Barbara Kingsolver is one of my very favorite authors. I have already read this book but will gladly read it again to be fresh for the discussion. :)

Good book! I read this as a loaner when it first came out. You won't be diappointed.

This is a wonderful book! Don't get discouraged by the first few chapters - keep reading.
