Is anyone still reading? Movie two is coming out this week. Who has read book two and plans to see the movie? Should we do a comparison afterward? What about book one and movie one? We just got the extended version last week (ordered it in July but it took some time to get here). I really liked the added parts but still wish they could have put Tom in there somehow. :) Let's dialogue!

I have read all 3 books (plus the Hobbit) and love all of them. I also saw the first movie (and bought it) and I am eagerly anticipating seeing the second one. I thought that they did a great job casting the characters. Most of them were darn close to how I pictured them, and they all did such a great job becomming their characters. I wish that they could have gotten Tom in there too, his was one of my favorite characters. But, at least we get to see Legolas (yes I am a Legolas groupie:D)!! I also cannot wait to see Gollum. What they have shown of him in the trailers is so spooky!

Go Frodo, Go!! I can't wait to see the new movie!!

I am SOOO excited to see this next movie!! I am hoping my newborn can nurse through the whole thing so I don't miss a moment!

I'm still working my way through the first book (I got the LOTR books for Christmas last year), so hopefully I'll find some time over the holidays to read more. (I read "The Hobbit" over the holidays last year.)

k-mom - my sister is a Legolas groupie too - I am VERY partial to Strider!

I cannot wait till Wed!! Actually, I probably won't get to go till at least Sat-- cross fingers!

I bought the DVD of 'Fellowship' the day it came out (before I heard there would be an extended version, sigh...). WE watch it quite a bit-- it's a great movie. The meticulous detail is incredible, and it's so true to (my concept of) Tolkien's vision.

BTW, I think Legolas (Orlando Bloom) is *gorgeous* !!! ;)

Have any of the previews shown Treebeard? I'm wondering how they're going to do the Ents. Last I heard, John Rhys-Davies was doing the voice (along with playing Gimli), but they still weren't sure how to animate them.

I got a quick glimpse of an Ent on a preview the other day. It looked very cool in the millisecond that they showed it;)

rebeccav-my best friend loves Strider too;)
