Birth Ball

I am really just posting here because I thought people here would know...
Where can I buy one of these? Are they the same as the Exercise Balls I see at WalMart? How big is the diameter?
I used one in the hospital last time but need/want my own now.

I think they're the same as exercise balls. Birth balls might be like those heavy duty exercise balls because they want to make sure it's able to support our big pregnant bodies. ;) I got one from a gym, but it got a hole a few months later. I think it's because DH was holding our baby and sitting on it everyday as a chair and used it as a bouncey seat. Their combined weight is not very light. Still, it lasted a few months. I got another one from a fitness equipment shop later. You can order some online, too. I think they have suggestion on diameter according to your height (and if your legs are long, order a bigger one).

I didn't use it during labor, though. There was so much pressure down there I didn't want to sit at all.

Yep, they're the same things. I bought one from Walmart not long ago and love it. It'll hold up to 300 pounds and is 26 inches in diameter. From what I've seen, that is a pretty standard height. Mine came with a pump and an exercise video (not for pg women, just a regular exercise video) that I'll probably try after the baby is born.

sometimes the ones they have in the birth centers have a stand it sits in so it wont roll and you wont lose your balance

I used the one WalMart sells too. I LOVE it!

I use it now to do crunches on. lol

Lol.. wanna know what i used.. i used the big giat rubber balls they sell at walmart for kids for 2.50... they hold at least 300 pounds.. a heavier friend of mine sat on one and bounced hard to maek sure it would pop.

Too funny! I just was coming over here to ask where to buy one. I have heard such good things I was thinking of getting one for myself this time around.
