I got a newsletter from the commanding officer....great to hear how they are all doing...anyways, he had a web address and I went there and click on the links and they had photos of Jason's unit...at play, at work, etc....It was so good to "see" him. He looks good. I am in tears, but they are tears of joy, and a little sadness.

His birthday is coming up on Oct. 15th. He will be 20. It will be the first birthday I have spent without him. I was the only one there when he was born, two states away from my family. For so long it was just the two of us....ok, I was happy to have seen a picture, and now I have gotten all work up and am feeling sad.....gotta love the roller coaster:)

Thanks for listening......

((hugs)) I love getting pics of DH when he's gone. Of course, they just make me miss him more, but. . . . well, it's just nice to be able to SEE that he's really ok. The kids go wild when they see new pictures of him. :D

Very cool!! DH sent me one newsletter and I poured over it and read it all the way through. I asked him to send me any others he gets and I think he thought I was nuts but I told him it's just one more way to connect while he's gone.

Sorry to hear about not being with him on his birthday. Maybe you can send him an extra special care package to make up for it.

That's so wonderful that you were able to see pictures! :) Yes, they're bittersweet, aren't they? *sniff sniff*. :)

Are you sending a birthday box? I bet the girls would have fun helping you put it together.
