I dropped my son off at Boy Scout camp today without bursting into tears. What kept me dry-eyed? Thinking about how brave you are, with Jason off so far from home.

When you have time to talk or write to him, would you please tell him that his bravery and strength, going off to war and so far from his mom, has helped another mom to let her son go off on his own for the first time ever. Honestly, before this week, I pretty much figured the Scoutmaster was going to have to drag me out of camp crying.

I'm glad you got Jeff off safely....I'm sure he will have a blast. It is never easy letting go no matter what age they are. I have been thinking so much lately of Jason's life and all his milestones. I remember balling like a baby on his first day of kindergarten, his first sleepover, the first time he went to Fla with my parents, his first date, his first time driving a car without me, and on and on. I don't imagine it ever ends...us worrying about our babies.....
