till dh comes home for R&R! Well, give or take a couple of days. We all know how that goes. We're in the final countdown. I can't wait to see him! :D

Since we are going to be home with family, DH and I are going away for a few days of much earned alone time. :D We'll be going up the North Shore of Lake Superior. The kids don't really have anything planned beyond spending every waking moment in his shadow. Alyssandra will be celebrating a birthday while he's here, so we are planning for that. My mom and dad want to have an open house so the entire family can come to see us and we don't have to kill ourselves trying to get around to see everyone.

HOw great of your parents to understand the demands and to have an open house. Give them a hug of thanks from me. I think that's awesome! :)

Enjoy your time (especially your 'alone time' ;) ) and also enjoy the next two weeks of anticipation as that's always fun too.

The open house is a great idea. Get it all over with in one swoop and you get him the rest of the time :) Have fun on the shore, pretty up there.

Plan something the kids can do with dad. Some sort of little project maybe a bird house or something so they have something to look at that reminds them of when dad was home. A kit of some sort so not much adult brain power is involved ;)

My dad has a wood shop out in his shed. The kids would love something like that. I just talked to dh and he loves the open house idea. If he comes in exactly when he's supposed to, we'll celebrate Lyssa's birthday the next day. In 12 days, he should be here! :D
