we made it safely to Germany and I'm finally back online......we live off-post in a huge 5 bedroom house (whooooohoooo, no stairwell ;) ) and are hoping our hhg will arrive soon (even tho I don't think it'll get here till sometimes in july)

we got our unaccompanied already and at least have some stuff to live with (even tho I miss my bed badly, the govern. furniture are horrible uncomfortable and the kids have nearly no toys)

but other than that we are happily back in germany and had already a couple of trips to Ikea ;)

Yeah!
I am glad you got at least one of your shipments! Gov. beds are awful but we loved having the rest while we were in Germany. I know it isn't pretty but we figured the kids could work on someone elses stuff for a few years and we could save money to buy new stuff. Which is what we did last fall :)

I am glad you are back. How are the kiddos adjusting? How far are you from family?

the kids love it here and my parents are only 2 hours away (far enough but close enough ;) )

ds is finally speaking german again and I signed them up for school which they will start july 1st (we opted for the german system, so he won't attend Kindergarten this year)

Ikea is only 10 min. away from where we live and there's even another bigger one 20 min. away (I have to hold myself back not to buy too much stuff as we already have furniture , hahaha ;) )

my dh boss already tries to get me a job, lol (housing is in desperate needs for bilingual councelers (sp) and I will see if I could work part-time (the pre-school offered me from September on the long mornings (7:30-14:00), so I would be willing to work from 8-13) will see if I get a call back from the housing office

other than that, dh is back at "working-hours" instead of the school hours we were used to the last 10 month....

Lucky you, no stairwell living! I am jealous!:) Where are you, if you don't mind me asking? We've been here since Dec. and I am really enjoying it now that we're settled in. You are blessed to have the language advantage, but I'm learning langsom! (see?!?)
