What are you reading this week? What are you looking forward to reading soon?
You can just list the book or books you're working on, or you can add a few sentences about them, or you can write a short review for us, if you like!

I'm still working on the same two epics: House of the Spirits and Ahab's Wife. I am loving both of them, but reading them both together is slow going. I think I will put aside Ahab's Wife for this week and just work on House of the Spirits.

I just finished Charms for the Easy Life this morning and it was a lovely book.
Next up: a lot! Once again, five items on reserve came in at the same time. They all sounds so great I can't decide which to read first!
Baby Catcher - Peggy Vincent
Where the Heart Is - Billie Letts
The Adrian Mole Diaries - Sue Townsend
Jemima J - Jane Green
Anywhere But Here - Mona Simpson

In the last week I have finished up The Winter of Our Discontent and This Heart of Mine. Thanks Susan, for the Susan Elizabeth Phillips tip, it was light and enjoyable. http://www.storknet.com/boards/smile.gif
I am currently reading The House of the Spirits. Allende's books are usually a little tough for me to get into, but once I'm in I'm totally hooked! I'm enjoying this so far, though she uses some very disturbing imagery at times - things I don't need to imagine.
I am also reading Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD by William Shaw, So That's What They're For!, a witty and fun breastfeeding book by Janet Tamaro, and The Encyclopedia of Ornamental Grasses for my fall landscaping project.
On the nightstand are Unraveling the Mysteries of Autism and PDD, A Mother's Story of Research and Recovery by Karen Seroussi, A Mind at a Time by Mel Levine, and The Orchid Thief by Susan Orlean.

Every week I read this thread and every week I think wow that sounds great! Yet I still have nothing to contribute. http://www.storknet.com/boards/frown.gif However, I do have a question how in the world do some of you read more then one book at a time? I think that would drive me batty. I have noticed qutie a few of you do read more then one book at a time and I just don't know if I could do that myself.
However, I love reading this thread every week and I gain new additions to my want to read pile. Thanks for all the great suggestions.

I'm supposedly reading Fannie Flagg's newest novel, "Standing Under the Rainbow," but, in reality, I think I've given up and haven't admitted it until just now. The characters aren't drawing me it.
I have some books waiting for me at the library, but we're moving into our new house soon, so I think I won't be reading for a couple weeks.
