My dd (age 5) has a school assignment, and we need your creative ideas! She is to make a puppet based on a story she read. I think she will be doing Alice the Fairy, but she may change her mind. Any ideas for puppet-making she'd be able to do herself (perhaps with a little help from me)? I'm tempted to let her go for it and try to figure something out herself, but then have some easy ideas in my head, ready to gently suggest to her if she gets frustrated.
Thanks! :)

Can you get the old fashioned wooden clothes pegs there? You know the kinds with the 2 long "legs" and the wee round "head". They're simple enough to form the body, then she just needs to attach some fabric for a dress, glittery threads for hair, and if you have any clear drying glue she could make glittery wings from acetate. Glue on a lollypop stick for a handle. Or you could use a wooden spoon if you're looking for something bigger.

I am so sad, I don't know 'Alice the Fairy' :( my little girl is too big for Alice.
Heavy sigh...
I have seen gardening gloves made into puppets. Each finger was a different character. Using little pon pons to make their faces, google eyes, a little felt.
