What do you do with the stuff you no longer want. Do you toss it into the trash? Give it away? Freecycle? Salvation Army or the like? Give it to friends?

I am getting a serious log jam here. My car would like to see the inside of the garage!

Usually unwanted around here means Ed has jumped on it (danced on it whatever ;) ) and it's broken, in that case we just toss it during spring clean up (large items) or regular trash pick up. He's such an active kid that he doesn't outgrow his clothes, he destroys them. So we have no stock pile of clothing give away. However I do have a brand new V smile used once that he just doesn't care for, that I have no idea what to do with.

I suppose a yard sale would be a fun way to get rid of the overflow and make a little side cash, or ebay, and whatever doesn't sale can always be donated :)

I donate all my baby related stuff to a pregancy shelter that helps low income Moms to be. I give my other stuff to Salvation Army or my church for their Yard Sale.

You should do what they do on Clean Sweep. On a nice day, haul everything out into the front yard. Make a few different piles: what will absolutely be tossed; what can be assimilated into other areas of the house; and what will be sold. Just being brutally honest about what should be pitched will help you get rid of the mass of stuff. Once you have a workable "sell" pile, figure out whether you can really sell it (yard sale, eBay), or whether it should be donated or Freecycled.

I just wish it would disappear. I hate messing with it once I am done with it. I also hate to throw anything away that could be useful to someone else. I did my first freecycle today. someone is coming tomorrow to pick up a giant size lawn bag of boys clothes. I also pawned off a tweety comforter to my SIL. Chipping away.

we pass along as much as possible to people we know and after that we donate it. one thing i did w/the kids (and they're little!!) is ask them if they had toys they wanted 'baby katie' to get that they didn't play w/anymore. it helped all of us to get them involved ... until caroline started giving away dylan's trains :p  ... could you get your kids to help you tackle the project?

hahaha No, would be nice but I live with a herd/flock/gaggle of packrats. They each have their own specialty. It is a nightmare. I have to squirrel it out when no one is looking because their junk is precious.

"Heyyyy that's good stuff!"
