I had a similar thread a while back but I can't find it. I got pregnant and it slipped to the wayside and now I am wanting to get my house all finished before Baby #2 comes. I am in serious need of some new bedding. Our room is a neutral beige which could also change. The rest of our house is red and yellow. It's called Sashay Red I think (we didn't do it the peopel before us did) but I like it. Anyway, dh would prefer not to have floral on the bedding. We had bought this
http://www.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=109829&PartnerID=FROOGLE&BannerID=MP689&bhcp=1
but the stripes look nothing as good as they do in the picture and it had a lot of pink that my husband hated. So I want something simple but elegant. Any ideas?? Thanks!!!

Oh, I LOVE that Ralph Lauren bedding!

I just got this quilt (http://ww1.potterybarn.com/cat/pip.cfm?src=shpcbabbdgqts%7Crshop%2Fshpcbabbdgqts% 7Crshop%2Fshpcbabbdg%7Crshop%2Fshpcbab%7Crshop&pkey=cbabbdgqts&gids=p3252) in the white for our bedroom, and I love it . . . it looks better than in the picture.

You know, my friend just redid her bedroom with absolutely no budget, and they did the most interesting things by just adding architectural detail. Her bedding is a sage green with a wide shadow stripe, and her walls are a beautiful deep green. Then they added soft white crown molding and a really interesting double chair-rail thing: from the ceiling, there is the white crown molding, then a really deep green paint about 18" high and bordered by another white molding, all the way around the room. Then the lighter green wall color, and at the bottom of the wall the pattern is repeated: soft white baseboards, deep green paint about 18" up, then another white molding. It's hard to explain without it sounding odd, but it creates such an elegant line for the room.

If you like the clean lines and bright colors, take a look at the Company Store, Garnet Hill, and Pottery Barn bed and bath. They all have really neat stuff. If you are looking for rich fabrics, elegance, etc., take a look at linensource. They have some gorgeous things, but it all depends on your tastes.

If you have a bloomingdales around you, they also have some really nice, modern looking bedding.

Check out Overstock (www.overstock.com). I bought my bedding there, and it was dirt cheap. I accent with shams and pillows.

I LOVED it in the picture and nowhere locally had it. It does not look that good IRL. Also it is very thin and not good enough quality for how expensive it is!!

I love the white quilt. How does it do with a toddler all over it? Is it easy to wash?

I haven't washed it yet, and our bed is pretty high, so Sam hasn't spent much time up on it. But it's really, really pretty . . . I'm thinking about getting the same one for our guest room. I got mine on ebay for @ $100.

PB has some pretty striped bedding, too.

It looks pretty! Did you go with an all white bed or did you do colorful sheets and pillows to accent it? Does PB have good decorative pillows? We don't have one here, closest on his 1.5 hours so I am always looking online! Thanks! I hate that this was moved bc I don't know how much traffic it will get but thanks to everyone who left me ideas so far!

This probably isn't all that helpful, but my walls are about to be a nice light shade of coffee (they were minty green, but it looks yucky--what WAS I thinking). I prefer to leave the walls neutral so I can change the bedding if I want. I think the easiest thing to do is to pick a comforter/spread/quilt that is modern or simple and then dress it up with the accesories. That way, if your tastes change or you have a sudden yearning for floral, you don't have to change the entire thing, just pillows and dust ruffle or something like that. As far as color goes.....I love red. It's my favorite.

I also like bedding in a soft warm yellow and I recently saw a modern clean design type bedroom (my taste tends more toward casual, personally) in a lovely shade of aquamarine. There is tons of stuff from all price levels on Overstock, even the really pricy stuff. Pottery Barn has nice stuff. For basics, like if you wanted patterned sheets or something like that in pretty much any thread count (or satin!) JCPenney's carries pretty much everything.

Sorry your bedding wasn't up to par....I really like the picture--so bright and happy. You just don't get what you pay for a lot of times......HTH

I thought the same thing. I thought it looked really clean and neat. It looked like a multicolor candy cane when we got it
