Question about clothing in a shadowbox

I want to put the kids' hospital caps in shadowboxes. The backing of the shadowboxes I bought is padded with cloth. I'll probably be putting another decorative cloth over the back.

My question is, what's the best way to attach the cap to the cloth? I don't want to glue it, because they may want to do something else with it someday. But I'm thinking pinning will look clunky.

Any ideas?

Id use really little push pins! or sewing pins that they use when getting ready to sew something!

Did you decide what to do, Suzanne? I've seen small (short) pushpins with little round white tops that might work nicely. Not sure where you find them....

push pins from any sewing store.. we use them when we are placing two things together or making a hem
