I'm trying really hard to 'sort' my house out. Before I go any further, I must tell you, I am a wheelchair user and I have Support Workers to help me too. I moved here, last May. It's inaccessible, so hard work for me, but I manage! We've got rid of surplus furniture, possessions to the charity stores or dump it sites.

I have to be organised. I'm planning meals, cooking for the freezer, etc, etc. My workers have routines to follow, with tasks that need to be done every day, or weekly, or as and when.

I still have some more sorting to do. Ds's bedroom and preparing Dd's new bedroom.

How do you find the Fly lady way of doing things? Does it work for you and if so, or not, why? Could I successfully adapt it to a work prog for my Support Workers? (They are both like me, hyper hard working and like to be organised). What are the strengths and weaknesses of it?

Thank you in advance.

No advice, I do a little of this and that from fly lady and another site I go to. It is so hard for me to throw out my stuff and the girls but easy for me to do Dh's and My Mom's (I help he at her house sometimes) . For my stuff I end up moving the junk from one spot to another it seem. Maybe your helpers can offer you some opinions on what you are not really using and could get rid of. I am much more a declutter when I am not attached to it.

Good Luck!

Hi Aliboo,

First, I love the avatar of you and your daughter. Too precious!

I think some of FlyLady's ideas would work for you and your Support Workers. FlyLady does send out e-mail reminders throughout the day, but you can choose not to have her send them. (I don't get them anymore.)

My favorite things about FlyLady:

~ She reminds me to at least get to the basics every day, and to be proud of that alone. (Dishes/kitchen, laundry, taking care of myself and kids.)
~ She has some great ideas on how to declutter (http://www.flylady.net/pages/FLYingLessons_Decluttertips.asp).
~ She encourages setting daily and weekly routines, and gives examples from her own life (http://www.flylady.net/pages/FLYingLessons_Routines.asp).

I think those are also the things that would work well for you. She is inspiring! There are things I no longer try to incorporate, but I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head. Just look around her website (http://www.flylady.net) and have fun picking out the things that might work for you.

Hope this helps! :)
