What brand and type of formula do you use? What do you like/dislike about it? What other types have you tried that you liked or didn't like?

I think it would be interesting to see what people use and why. :)

Right now for Eric, we use the generic Wyeth formula that you can get at WalMart or Target. I really like it for several reasons - first of which is that it's way cheaper than the name brands. It also doesn't bubble up like Similac did.

We used Similac with Iron with Andrew because we had samples of it at home when we started using formula. I liked it OK, but towards the end of his first year, they stopped making the "value size" containers so we switched to the Similac 2 because it still did come in the value size container. The only drawback to the Similac was the price and the fact that it bubbled up like crazy when you used the powder.

Fortunately, neither of our boys had any problems with regular formula so we didn't have to use the "special" kinds.

bf daughter for 8 mos then to Enfamil Lipil. Levi unfortunately is protein sensitive so he started out on Similac Alimentum then we switched to Enfamil Nutramagin. AT 2 mos I tried him on Good Start but he started to get fussy again and I wasn't ready to take a chnace so we are still on Nutramagin and will try Good Start again at 4 mos.

Audrey is on Neocate. It can only be obtained with a perscription and at a pharmacy or hospital. She is allergic to cows milk and soy. Those 2 things make her violently ill. We tried to re-asess her last week on Nutramigen and she ended up having to be taken to the ER because she wouldn't stop vomiting. I don't think she will ever be able to have regular milk or soy milk. Next step when she is too old for formula is rice milk or goats milks. ugh!

Oh and it smells aweful!

I use Alimentum w/ rice cereal b/c ds has reflux. Even though he's growing out of it, I'm going to leave him on it until we switch over to milk. What I like about it-it's hypoallergenic so it's very easy to digest and doesn't give him gas. What I dislike about it-it's very expensive.

We've tried every other brand it seems like-Enfamil, Similac Soy, Enfamil AR, Good Start Soy, Nutramigen, and Neocate. I think that's it. All the others were painful for Jake and made his reflux worse.

We use the Target brand soy formula.

With my first son we started out using Isomil, but then Target stopped carrying it so we had to switch to the Isomil Advance. He began spitting up, where he never had before, and I heard somewhere that the formulas containing the DHA and ARA can make some babies spit up. (Plus they're so much more expensive!) That's when we switched to the Target brand.

nutramigen here. it's the only thing that don't have her crippled w/ gas (she's still awful gassy though). i hate it SOOO much! it's clumpy and it smells terrible! but, it keeps alice from hurting so much so i can't really complain....

Similac Advance concentrate (mix with equal part water). She can't take too much of the powder. Upsets her tummy and she really doesn't seem to like it.

We used Carantion Good Start Soy for our last 3 babies. We bought the concentrate which was easy to mix and use (and clean up bottles). I liked the savings (it's cheaper than other brands)...and never had problems with it. :)

We used the Enfamil (?sp) soy for DD#2...and DD#1 was on a special soy that is no longer made.

I use Enfamil Lipil. I like it because it does not stain the clothes too.

we used Similac Alimentum for Iain due to reflux. He too has out grown his reflux but we kept him on it b/c he has done so well on it. He will be 1 in less then 2 weeks so I look forward to the drastic cut in my bills once I don't have to buy formaul any more! YEAH!!!

It was trial and error trying to find the right formula for him.

We're using Enfamil Lipil for Brian. I had a sample of Similac Advance, and tried it. It smelled awful and made him spit up a lot. He barely spits up ith the Enfamil and it smells a lot better. I used Enfamil w/iron for dd1 and Carnation Good Start for dd2. With dd2, I had to experiment w/different formulas until I found one that didn't constipate her and make her real gassy. We got lucky with dd1, and found the right formula on the first try.

My little one started off on Enfamil Lipil, but she kept getting constipated (sorry, tmi) so we made the switch to Good Start Supreme. She never had a problem with it.
