How long can you keep formula?

i mean once you mix the powder with water how long can you keep in in th frige? Is it good for 12 hours? I have never used formula before but I am considering starting to supplament a little.

The formula we are currently using (the Wyeth brands) say it's good for 24 hours in the fridge after being mixed. I'm thinking that with the Similac we used with Andrew it was good for 48 hours after being mixed (but don't quote me on that). It should tell you on the can if you want to check before you get any. :)

Mary's right...the other brands do say 48 hours...but the Wyeth brand say 24 (Parents' Choice, Kroger, and Target store brands).

It is only good for an hour if it has been sampled by the baby, though, even if refrigerated--so you might want to make bottles of smaller quantities while you figure out how much you want to supplement. That's the official guideline.
