Today my ex presented me with a brand new sewing machine from my ex-MIL! WOW! I am surprised and excited, I am a very lucky girl!

Anyhow, I am excited to make curtains, hem things, etc..but I am wondering what do you do with your sewing machines?

I am sure if I did an online search I would find something, but just wondering what you girls sew?

I quilt, make curtains, tablecloths and table runners, and halloween costumes :) have fun with yours!

If I could learn one new skill it would be sewing. I'd use a machine mostly for things around the house, like window treatments and tablecloths. Have fun learning!

I've only made a few things with my sewing machine so far: a quilt for my nephew, and placemats and napkins. I am in the process of setting up an area in my basement for sewing, and then I think I'll use it more often. I want to make a quilt for my baby who is due this fall, and I have purchased some material to make curtains for some French doors we have. I'd love to make some clothes, like sundresses or something simple, for Charon.

What I use it for most seems to be mending!

What I like to use it for includes quilting, placemats and other home decorations, making kid's clothing and Halloween costumes of course. I've made a few things for myself as well including nightgowns, shorts, nursing tops and a maternity dress for a company Holiday party which I felt too sick to attend. I also made a simple evening gown for my sister, but I'd like to make more clothes again.
