low fetal heartrate

hi,
i just had my first ultrasound on nov 14. the heartrate was only 45 bpm. i had thought i was 7 weeks 3 days, but baby measured 6 w, 1d, and sac measured 6w, 3d. i have had no bleeding so far. doc said it could go either way, but it is probably my body's way of preparing to miscarry. i refuse to give up. its been two days and i still have had no bleeding. i am scheduled to have another u/s on nov 20. has anyone out there experienced anything like this?, or maybe just have some words of encouragement?

Wow, I read your post and I can hardly believe it . I didn't know that they could get a hearbeat before 10 weeks.

I hope that everything works out for the best. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

yes, my ob-gyn said best to wait till at least 8 weeks, after problem was discovered, maybe just trying to make me feel better? but i've known others to get heartbeat at 7 weeks. they normally do not do an u/s as early as 6 weeks, either my timing is off, (thought i was 7 weeks 3 days) or the baby has stopped growing and just measures 6 weeks? but i want to thank you for the words of encouragement, and wish you the best with # 4!

First ..im sorry u have to go thru this. I'll tell u what happened with me. I found out i was pregnant on 8/13. I had a few occassions of spotting when i wiped with TP. Nothing else. When i went for my ob appt. she sent me for an u/s right away. The babys heartrate was only 88. And the growth was smaller. They said it wasnt a viable pregnancy. I didnt give up. Second u/s gave a heartrate of 140 but irregular. I was supposed to be 7 weeks but baby measured only 5 but the sac was 7. So i was sent to a perinatologist 4 days later. ANd there was no heart activity so i had to have a D&C done. The specialist said that since i had both irregular heartrate and irregular growth that something was very wrong with the baby. He said if it was just one or the other it may or may not be mangageable. Meaning just irregular rate or just slow growth, but i had both. I wish i had better news. But the fact that ur babys growth and sac are almost the same, could u be off on ur dates. Another lady here had a heartrate of 75 i think. I posed this same question when i found out about how low my babys heartrate was and she too lost the baby. Realistically speaking it doesnt look good.
