does anyone else have a little one who is allergic to nuts? specificallt peanuts?
How do you deal with it and are there alternatives to peanut butter that you use?

Dd#1 is mildly allergic to peanuts, and has to have it limited to under a certain amount in any 24hr time period. Her allergy isn't bad but it's enough that effects her and Ds who is addicted to peanut butter. I limit Ds so that he doesn't eat amy more then Dd#1 can.

Any advice? I'm trying to find a nut butter or something that she/they can have instead so that I don't have to limit them. She isn't allergic to any other nuts, but I do keep a very close eye on what she eats and her peanut levels.

TIA

Trader Joes has a really lovely sunflower seed butter (had some this morning on my crumpet, very nice!). You can also get cashew butter, almond butter, and soy butter from them (and other places). The soy is tricky, because the plants are related to peanut, so you might want to be cautious about that one. But the others are available in a variety of places.

Not sure if they'd be peanut-trace free, though. You'll have to check labels on each one.

I agree with Hedra. Watch soy products. Peanuts and soy are from the legume family and do not grow on a "tree" but rather are nitrogen enriching in their plant and growing activities to the soil. Anything grown on a tree should be fine. Try Trader Joes or a local healthfood store for other ideas.
