Does anyone use this IUD for birth control? How do you like it? Was insertion painful? What are your periods like now/before you got it.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I got one last Fall and have no complaints. The procedure took only a few minutes. I expected a little discomfort for a few days, but didn't notice any. Since then, my periods have been very light and short.

Timely question!

My insurance company just approved mine & now I'm just waiting for the first day of my next AF to have it put in.

I'm a little nervous about it but have heard good things.

Same as posted in the cafe.

I had mine put in in August. I had mild cramping that day but was already dealing with AF. I spotted for about two weeks after getting it and for the next two maybe three months I spotted for 7-10 days.

I was told it would/could take up to 6 months for my body to adjust cycle wise. I love it! I can't tell it's there, enjoying the lighter/shorter cycles!

I got mine about two weeks ago. It was slightly uncomfortable when it was put in. I had some cramping the day of and a few days after. I am having some spotting. All in all I love mine so far, can't tell it's even there..

Ok.. now I've had mine for a little while now! I still love mine.I've had some spotting, nothing terrible!

I had mine put in Feb 3 and had it taken out Feb 12th!!
I think I was a rare case, but I had horrible cramping the whole time (enough pain to be put on Vicodin) and I was bleeding horribly...Not spotting but bleeding very similar to the heavest time after giving birth! It did not ease up at all and I was going through pads and tampons worn at the same time! (SORRY TMI!)
I also was put on antiboitics after they took it out because she suspected an infection too... SO I think I had the worse case senerio with it...And I was really looking forward to an easy reliable birth control method! SO now it's back to the diaphram until we decide whether or not we are adding another baby to our big family...but then I will go to a tubal once that decision is set! LOL....
Good luck and I hope you don't go through what I did...By the way though when I had it put in..(I was very anxious about that!) but I didn't even feel it go in, only one part where they used an instrument to hold on to my cervix did I feel a slight "twinge" but at least that part was a breeze for me!
