I've been trying several things lately and I just can't seem to get our toilet clean. I've scrubbed every inch of the toilet inside and out. It looks sparkly white but there's always an awful smell afterwards. Any suggestions?

This may not help at all, but have you thought about getting some of those bleaching tablets you put in the toilet tank? They are supposed to last a month or two and in addition to keeping the toilet cleaner, it might kill whatever is making the water smell funny. If you have a septic tank, check to make sure using those is okay because I don't know. I guess if it's septic, it could be a whole different kind of issue. Good luck!

Thanks.:) I tried those and it doesn't work. We have two toilets and it's only the one which leaves me stumped.

P.S. We have public water.

Have you tried scrubbing up under the lip of the toilet? I have to do that once or twice a month, using a bottle/nipple brush to get all the way under the lip. It's NASTY, but it's the only way to get rid of that awful urinal smell.

Where we used to live we had VERY hard water so keeping the toilet clean was an ongoing battle. A friend suggested SnoBowl and it was wonderful! I've never seen anything like it. But, beware, don't get it on anything but the porcelain. I sat the bottle on the counter and some of the cleaner got on the counter. It's blue and it never came out. But as for cleaning-it was a miracle worker. I still buy it even after leaving there.

Is teh smella gassy, sewery smell? If it is you may need to replace the wax seal under the toilet. If air gets in there it produces a horrible odor!

I've tried scrubbing under the lip and it's still horrible. We just changed both rings of fire in the past year so I don't think it would be that. I'll look and see if I can find SnoBowl in the store.

Thanks ladies. I have a pet peeve about my bathrooms being perfect and this is driving me crazy but I'm sure that we'll figure out what it is.
