House warming gift ideas?

Hi ladies, I need some help with an idea of what to get our friends who is moving, from Ohio to California, for their new home.
I just found out about the move and things are going to be moving quickly. I have till the first weekend in Feb. to plan and find the perfect going away party and gift. Any ideas? Please help me! :) thanks Ann

how about a gift basket for after the move, things to help her relax -bubble bath, candles, tea.

We just moved into a new house. My Dh would have absolutely LOVED to have gotten something like a gift card to a home store.

If you know the town in CA that your friend is moving to, you can look up the home stores in that town/area. We are 1 state above CA(Oregon), and our main stores are Home Depot and Lowe's.

I think your friends are very lucky to have you. That is really sweet of you to give them a going away party and a gift.

i would have loved to get a gift card to one of those stores. maybe you can check into restaurants in their new town and get a gift card for a meal out, after moving the last thing i wanted to do was cook.

I think the Home store gift card is great. You can also send a plant or flowers from a local florist. Then you friend can replant them on their patio or garden.
