Anyone know anything about them. Dh just bought a porsche 911 and our regular car seats appear to be too big to fit in the VERY tiny back seat. I really don't want to have to buy special seats it is only for one pick up a week and on the rare occasion that we are going in separate directions.

My MIL has a Porsche Boxter. She bought the car seat that goes with it. It is a Britax that faces forward only (so baby must be older than one year and 20lbs) and is designed for the front seat (since it is a two-seater). It has a special clip that, when attached, shuts off the airbag. That is all I know about them. I assume she paid about the same as what a regular Britax would cost....$200-$250.

They are the same thing as the Britax Laptop (do a search to see a picture) but it has a back that is molded to the shape of the seat so it fits better.

But you should know it has NO harness - the seatbelt goes over a large shield that goes over the child's torso. I wouldn't put your youngest one in one.

What you can do is once your youngest is a year and 20 lbs you can get them both some really thin combo boosters like the Century Breverra or the Evenflo Apollo. If you can get your hands on a Fisher Price Futura 5 pt those are the thinnest of any on the market (try eBay, it's discontinued).

The one my MIL has does have a 5-point harness.

Clover,

Can I ask where your MIL got hers? We have looked and have never found anything like that - just the Roundabout for rear facing and the Laptop. Just as a FYI they are a lot more than a regular Britax

I told DSO that he would just have to drive his mid life crisis car alone ;). The kids sort of blow the image anyway LOL

I think she got it through the Porsche dealership about 2 years ago....and you might be right, they may be more expensive. I guess I just assumed they were about the same.

Thanks for all the info ladies! I'm going to make some calls later today. This is Dh's idea of a family car!!! He currently has a BMW Z3 which is only 2 seats and has airbags but not the kind you can turn off. So the deal was he had to find something with a back seat before I go back to work. Not exactly what I had in mind, back seat is a bit of a stretch. It's more like a shelf for your purse! Boys and their toys!!!
