I am determined to find a less expensive brand of diapers for Sam, and am looking for recommendations. Pampers swaddlers (size 2) fit him perfectly -- he has a long torso and chunky legs. Huggies don't fit him at all (they're too short and the legs are too tight). Also, he gets diaper rash very easily, so I'd like to find a brand that "breathes" as well as the Pampers (and not the kind that are encased all over the outside with a plastic shell . . . I just threw out a bag of those that were a local store brand). So if anyone can recommend a brand that is similar to Pampers, I'd love the recommendation.

Oh, and we don't belong to Sam's or any other warehouse club . . . I need diapers that I can buy at just "regular" stores.

TIA!

We have had great luck with DriBottoms from Wal-Mart. They have saved us a ton of money! I hope they meet your specifications. I think the White Cloud brand from Wal-Mart is pretty good too but not as inexpensive. The only diaper I have ever tried that actually gave my kiddos a bad rash was Luvs. Good luck on your quest.

She's right, the DriBottoms are the most similar to Pampers. They do have tape, and not velcro, which is the difference between them and White Cloud.

Luvs aren't "generic" but they are fairly cheap. I usually use Pampers (from BJ's warehouse) but when I do buy Luvs I get them from the grocery store for $10.

My sister always had good luck with the Wal Mart brand...I forget the name...but I know you hate your local Wal Mart, right?

I use the Dri_Bottoms on DD and her bottom is sensative and she is on the large side. The have always worked wonderfully for us. They actually changed them over to velcro tabs a few months ago and I like them even more.

We have used Dri-bottoms and they worked well for us, too. We're using the grocery store brand now (if you have a Fry's or Kroger near you) and it's even cheaper and works just as well. :)

Luvs. They are made by pampers and aer cheaper. also CVS and toys rus carries the pampers in the big boxes at the same price as Price club. and you can use coupons there and not a price club.

Here were I live White Cloud diapers are even cheaper than the Dri-bottoms at Walmart. You buy both at walmart. Good luck. Oh, I LOVE the white cloud brand.

Thanks everyone . . . I actually ventured out to Wal-Mart yesterday (and yes, I HATE that store) and bought a package of the white cloud brand. They seem fine except they're a little small in the waist. I think he needs to go up a size in them. Next time I go, I'll pick up a package of the Dri-Bottoms and try those.

The problem with Luvs is that the only place around here that carries them is Wal-Mart!

Another vote here for the Walmart White Cloud's. Mairi is also long-torsoed, but I don't mind her diapers having a little hip-hugger quality to them. I've *never* had a leak problem or diaper rash problem that was associated with the diaper.

And Walmart sells them in cases:). I buy two cases at a time, and if she grows out of one, then I exchange the second one for a larger size. That way I'm only buying diapers about 1x a month.

We use Luvs. They're great. I rarely see coupons for them, but they are often on sale by the case at our supermarket. :) Much cheaper than Pampers or Huggies, and just as good, IMO.

Another vote for Dri bottoms here. We were using the same Pampers that your talking about. I then realized we were just going to be throwing them away. Ha! So I decided to use the Wal-Mart brand.... it was just as good as the Pampers and saved us alot of money.

Another vote for White Cloud here. We use the diapers for our DS and the pull ups for our DD and they work fantastic. DS is thin as a rail and DD (up until recently) was a chunky Gerber shaped baby/little girl.

Good luck.:)

P.S. If you end up going with White Cloud, our Walmart has them in boxes with even more savings. We get around 112 diapers for just over $15.
