I have just found out today that I have been accepted to begin a certificate in Childbirth Education next year!!

It will probably take me at least 2 years extramurally to complete the course, and I will have to be a support person at at least 3 labours as part of the course.

When I am finished I will be able to run antenatal classes.

Cool! I keep thinking that I'd love to do that, but I can't seem to arrange my life to make it work.

Maybe when I retire?

Is that the course through ACE?

I've been thinking of doing that too, I have the application form and everything. Just need to take the next step....this year or next year, that is the question!!

Sarah, it is a course offered here through the Aoraki Polytechnic and Parents Centre which is a parenting organisation here in NZ.

As far as I know it's the only course of it's type in NZ

Now I am just hanging out till Feb when I get all my course material :)

I hummed and haa-ed for a while over the timing, but I spoke to the course co-ordinator and she was extremely supportive, and I have great support from the CBE's in my area too.........

edited to add that I have been wondering about timing b/c I am contemplating a no 3 at some time in the future too :D
