hi,i had placental bleeding in week 12.the docs said the placenta is very close to cervix.i took a lot of rest and always had my feet elevated on pillows.everything was fine but at the beginning of my 14th week i had a brownish discharge, got panicked and called the doc but she said nothing to worry.i still continue to have brownish spotting for half an hour or so two to three times a day.this has been happening for the past 3 days.the docs say dont worry.but i read in a book that brownish discharge for several days cud mean a threatened miscarriage.i am not sure of how much this is true.if anyone has had this plz tell me about it.i am really worried as this is my first pregnancy and i have no clue as to wat is normal or abnormal.thanks .

Hi.
I'm no expert, but I noticed you didn't have a reply yet, so I thought I'd post one.
From what I can gather, bleeding (particularly brownish discharge) is fairly common in pregnancy, but nevertheless, should be reported to your dr and checked.
I myself would be inclined to make an appointment with the dr, so you can be face to face, and she can perhaps do an examination, or maybe even an ultrasound.
It probably is nothing to worry about, but especially because it is your first pregnancy, I reakon your dr should check it out just to put your mind at ease, if nothing else.
Good luck, I'm sure everything will work out just fine for you.
